Character Education

This quote will emphasize one of our four character traits of respect, citizenship, responsibility, and integrity. We will discuss this quote at school and encourage you to talk about it with your children at home. This week’s quote is:

“Quality means doing it right when no one is looking.”

Bogus Basin Ski/Snowboard Trip

We had perfect weather, snow conditions and KIDS! Fun was had by all! Thank you to all the parents who chaperoned. We greatly appreciated your help.

2010 - 2011 School Calendar

We have had several questions regarding the 2010-2011 School Calendar. Unfortunately, we will not be able to finalize the calendar until after the legislative session has concluded, and we have final decisions on budgets and contracts. We will be able to finish the calendar after we have had time to adjust the budgets and contracts accordingly. We appreciate your patience and will send out the calendar as soon as possible. However, it should be safe to assume that we will not be starting school any earlier than the week of August 23 rd.

YMCA Dance and Gymnastics for Kindergarten and Preschoolers

The Treasure Valley Family YMCA is partnering with our community to bring your child a fun and active afterschool program on Tuesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The program will focus on active movement and fun through dance, gymnastics and various sports activities aimed at younger learners.  The curriculum will incorporate the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility and, of course, fun!

Volunteers are needed!  We are looking for both parent program leaders and teen program assistants.  The YMCA will provide training prior to the beginning of the program and support throughout.  For more information, contact Krista Young at 392-4520 or at frumkrby@msn.com.

Poetry Week

Guest poet, Kolette McClurg, is visiting our school again and sharing her wonderful expertise and talents. Students will be providing students with poetry lessons throughout the week and each student will have an opportunity to publish his/her own poem. Please ask your child to share his/her poem with you.
